Synaptics Shanghai Co., Ltd, (including its Chinese branches and affiliates, collectively referred to as “Company” or “we” or “us”) , respect the privacy of our online visitors and candidates. In special cases, such as when you provide related personal data as a candidate or a contact of our partner located in China, Synaptics Shanghai Co., Ltd, is the data controller.

3. Job Applicant Data. We will use personal information provided by job applicants (or “candidates”) for the following purposes: (i) assess candidate suitability for the position for which he/she applies and make hiring decisions; (ii) communicate with and send materials to candidates (including telephone, email, and postal mail) as well as with designated emergency contacts, including to notify candidates of office closures or emergent situations; (iii) communicate offers of employment to the candidate and inform the candidate of current and future career and training opportunities; (iv) manage interview-related travel; (v) manage and improve our recruiting and hiring processes, administer pre-employment activities, and maintain employment records; (vi) authenticate candidate identity and conduct or obtain reference and background checks only to the extent required or permitted by applicable law; (vii) other purposes as required or permitted by applicable law.
We may collect the following personal information from the candidates: name, email address, phone number(optional), preferred first name(optional), work authorization status for the country in which you are applying(optional), resume(optional), contact address(optional), postal, education history, work experience and additional information(optional).

DATA RETENTION AND CROSS-BORDER TRANSFER

Your personal information is retained for as long as necessary to accomplish the purposes for which it was collected unless otherwise required by applicable law.
If you are successfully recruited, we will store your personal information for as long as you are employed and only for 7 years after you leave. If you are not employed, we will store it for [5 ] years. In some instances, we may be required to retain personal information for longer periods of time to comply with legal requirements under applicable law.

Synaptics Incorporated, the Company's U.S. headquarters, processes your personal information for global recruitment management purposes under the scenario of your job applicant, and Synaptics Incorporated and its global subsidiaries such as Synaptics Hong Kong Limited and Taiwan Branch will access your personal information through the Jobvite system to help fulfil the purpose of your job applicant.
